Community Workshops: What We Are Planning for 2026
An overview of our workshop calendar and how we are shaping programmes around participant feedback.
Every year we sit down and look at what worked in our community workshops and what we want to change. 2026 is no different. Here is a snapshot of what we are planning and why—and how you can have a say.
What You Told Us
Last year we asked participants what they valued most. Three things came up repeatedly: consistency of timing, clarity about level, and a mix of one-off tasters and longer series. People who could not commit to a full term still wanted a way in—so we are keeping a number of single-session workshops that require no prior booking beyond that date. At the same time, we are making the regular weekly and fortnightly slots easier to find and more clearly labelled (e.g. “introductory”, “mixed”, “experienced”) so that everyone can choose appropriately.
What We Are Adding
We are expanding our weekend intensives. These are one- or two-day blocks that dive deep into a theme—recent examples have included composition, improvisation, and performance presence. They suit people who cannot attend weekly but want more than a two-hour taster. We will run at least one intensive per quarter, with dates announced on the blog and via our mailing list.
We are also trialling a small number of hybrid sessions: part in the room, part online. The aim is to include people who are too far away or unable to travel. These will be clearly marked so that in-person participants know what to expect and online participants get instructions for joining. We will review after a few runs and decide whether to make them a permanent part of the offer.
Where and When
Our main studio base remains the same; we will continue to work with partner venues for some workshops so that we can reach different areas. Exact dates and venues for each term will be published on the community page and in our newsletters. If you have a venue or group that might want to host a workshop, we would like to hear from you—contact us with a brief outline and we will get back to you.
How to Stay in the Loop
To receive updates on workshop dates, themes, and booking, get in touch via the contact page and ask to be added to the mailing list. We send short updates only when there is something new—no spam. You can also check the blog and community pages regularly; we will post each term’s programme as soon as it is confirmed.
Thank you to everyone who took part last year and who took the time to give feedback. It directly shapes what we do next.
